Embark on "Journey Through Time and Around the World," a revolutionary Learning and Evaluation Situation (LES) from the new Quebec Culture and Citizenship (QCC) program for Secondary 5, designed specifically to explore social groups and power relations across ages and societies.

 

This unique LES, developed by Dokoma Editions, sheds light on social inequalities, socioeconomic changes, and social change movements, inviting students to apply their creative thinking to understand and analyze the transformations that have shaped our world.

 

From the start, "Before and After," students are prompted to observe and note the differences between series of photos from different eras, allowing them to visually grasp the impact of time on societies. In "What if the Revolution Never Happened?", students engage in a deep dialogue on the alternative consequences of historical moments that did not occur, assessing the impact of evolutions in various fields on society. The detailed analysis of a specific revolution in Quebec offers students the opportunity to dive into the history of their own society, recognizing the role of innovations and individual or collective actions in shaping the present.

 

The final task, creating a timeline, allows for a direct comparison between Quebec's journey and that of a country around the world, highlighting similarities and differences in the trajectories of social change and responses to inequalities.

 

"Journey Through Time and Around the World" is an invitation to navigate through history to better understand the current dynamics of social groups and power relations. This LES enriches the new QCC program for Secondary 5, providing students with the necessary tools to become enlightened global citizens, aware of the complexities of our society and the possibilities for change.
