Introduce your Secondary 4 students to the vibrant debate of "Classic or Alternative Culture?" through this essential digital LES as part of the Quebec Culture and Citizenship (QCC) program.

This educational experience, rooted in the media domain and enriched by the use of information and communication technologies, invites young minds to explore the dynamics between subcultures, classic culture, and alternative cultures, laying the groundwork for a deep understanding of the various cultural expressions that shape our society.

The adventure begins with a discussion on works representative of alternative culture, challenging students to rethink the boundaries of traditional culture. They are then invited to "Cultivate Their Culture" by presenting an artist historically considered alternative, who is now a cornerstone of Quebec's cultural heritage, illustrating the fluidity and evolution of cultural perception.

In the second task, "Your Artist Leaves a Mark," students conduct and analyze a survey on the impact of this artist, enhancing their ability to assess cultural influence over time and across generations. The final task challenges them to write a grant application to SODEC for a cultural event, putting their communication and argumentation skills into practice to support their passions and cultural projects.
