Dive into the Quest for Meaning and Worldviews
Teaching the theme Quest for Meaning and Worldviews in Grade 11 becomes more engaging with the CCQ program’s Dokoma debates. By promoting critical analysis and speaking skills, these debates encourage students to explore various forms of knowledge and to question their sources of trust.
Through topics such as:
- “Do you trust certain forms of knowledge more? Why?”
- “How can we learn about ourselves and our identity?”
- “Do dreams have meaning? Do they reveal things about the world or about ourselves?”
- “When I get the right to vote…”
students are prompted to reflect on their own worldview while discovering that of their peers. Teachers can incorporate these discussions into the curriculum, project arguments on an interactive whiteboard, manage interventions, and foster active listening. Dokoma debates act as a versatile educational tool, enhancing collaboration and respect for diverse opinions. Thanks to their modular format, it is possible to adapt content or add arguments over time. By investing in these debates, you will give your learners the opportunity to refine their understanding of self and society.
This approach nurtures curiosity and encourages learners to appreciate multiple perspectives. Dokoma fosters meaningful interactions and deeper insight into personal and collective worldviews.
