Cible Secondary 2 – Workbook 3 is fully aligned with the Quebec Ministry of Education (MEQ) French curriculum. It offers teachers a structured, engaging, and culturally relevant resource that helps students strengthen their writing, reading, and critical thinking skills through meaningful content.
Two modules focused on expression and reflection
Module 5 – Life Pages
This module introduces students to biographical writing through the history of Quebec music. From La Bolduc to Félix Leclerc and contemporary rap, students analyze how artists reflect their era through song. They study descriptive text structure, communication context, and narrative voice, then write a presentation of an artist they admire—connecting culture, identity, and writing.
Module 6 – A Literary Blog
Students explore descriptive-justificative texts and opinion writing through topics that matter to them, such as required reading and bibliotherapy. They learn to structure arguments, use effective text organizers, and enrich their style with expressive vocabulary. The final task is to write a literary opinion piece, just like a cultural blogger.
An 8-week advanced grammar sequence
The grammar section (Weeks 17–24) follows a clear progression aligned with curriculum expectations:
- Declarative, interrogative, imperative, and exclamatory sentences
- Past participle agreement (used alone, with être or avoir)
- Sentence functions and relative clauses
- Verb tenses: present, imperfect, past tense, future, conditional, subjunctive
- Vocabulary development: connectors, neologisms, quotations, pleonasms, word meaning
Each week combines grammar, conjugation, and vocabulary with varied exercises, language games, and “Go further” features that build language awareness.
A complete teaching resource
The workbook includes dictations, online exercises, a detailed teacher’s guide, co-evaluation grids, and curated literary suggestions. Differentiated and accessible versions support inclusive teaching practices.
