Pierre-Augustin Caron de Beaumarchais (1732-1799) was a French writer, playwright, musician and businessman. He is a very versatile man of action. Moreover, he was editor of Voltaire, also at the origin of the first copyright law and the founder of the Society of Authors. He is also a spy and an arms dealer for the king.
